How to Update Your EIN in SAM.gov If You’ve Had a Business Change

Did your business recently change structure? Did the IRS update your records? You may need to update your TIN (EIN) in SAM.gov.

Follow these steps:

  • Go to SAM.gov and log in

  • Click on “Entity Management”

  • Choose “Update Entity” and then “TIN and IRS Consent”

  • Enter your correct EIN and legal name from your IRS letter

  • Upload your CP-575 or 147C confirmation if possible

It’s that simple. But if you submit incorrect info or miss a field, SAM.gov will reject your registration.

Avoid costly delays. The Federal Processing Registry can help you update your SAM profile, correct IRS mismatches, and stay eligible for contracts.
